Milan and Sarah Bizic

Milan Bizic is the 25-year-old publications proofreader for the United Church of God. Hailing from the hills of Eastern Ohio, he grew up alternately on a small farm and in a Victorian townhouse, where his family ran a care home for elderly and mentally challenged individuals. Home schooled from kindergarten to high school, he graduated in 2003 and studied computer science at Belmont Technical College. After graduation he moved to Cincinnati, where he attended Ambassador Bible Center in the class year of 2006. Afterward, he studied communication at Ohio University in St. Clairsville and Athens, Ohio, before graduating and moving back to Cincinnati to work for the church. He married Sarah Bates Bizic, also a UCG employee, on June 5, 2011. When he's not at work, Milan (or Nick) likes to work on his new home with Sarah and plan their future microfarm. He loves living so close to his Church family in the Cincinnati area and being able to spend so much quality time with them.

Sarah Bizic grew up in a small ranching community in the south central Sierra Nevada Mountain range in California. She attended the one-room schoolhouse for several years before transferring to the Porterville school system, 45 minutes down the mountain for junior high and high school. She loved growing up in California Hot Springs, where her pastimes included creek walking, blackberry picking, hiking and raising orphaned calves with her older brother, Matthew, and younger sister, Amy. The family currently has a miniature herd of about 20 cows, mostly stemming from these calves. Sarah graduated from high school in 2003 and went on to study studio art and education at the University of California, Davis. Her last semester of college she spent on a study abroad program in Vancouver, Canada, after which she graduated. She moved to Cincinnati in 2007, where she attended Ambassador Bible Center. After several years of working in the bankruptcy department of US Bank, she decided it was time for a career change, and she was hired as a UCG employee in 2010. As an international mail clerk she has learned lots about geography and postal codes from all manner of countries. On June 5, 2011, she married Milan Bizic, and shortly thereafter they bought their first home. When she's not at work, Sarah likes to do arts and crafts, play the piano, and cook with Milan. She is looking forward to planting gardens and further renovating and landscaping their new home.
