Jorge, the project manager, was born in Mozambique and immigrated to South Africa in 1965 where he completed his senior education. He worked in South Africa for 35 years in the IT industry. He was baptized in January 1970, met his wife Kathy at the Feast in Poconos in 1973, and married in December 1974. Jorge and Kathy have five children and five grandchildren. In 1995, when United Church of God was established in South Africa, he served as a member of the South African National Council until he immigrated to the United States. He was ordained in 2002 at the Feast and served as an elder in Johannesburg. Since Jorge was ordained, God stirred his heart to lay the ground work of the Portuguese language portion of God’s Work in United Church of God.

In 2005 Jorge and Kathy immigrated to the States and attended ABC. At the end of 2008 Jorge was employed full time in the Church as a data entry clerk. When Mr. Dennis Luker was appointed as President of United Church of God in 2010 he placed Jorge in a role dedicated to serve the Portuguese and Brazilian brethren and to conduct his first pastoral visit to Brazil after the Feast.

In January 2011 Jorge and Kathy were asked to pastor the Louisville/Lexington, Kentucky congregation, where they currently serve, besides performing the role of senior pastor for the Portuguese language areas.
